Later on, he accompanied his father in the important stages of planting, installing and conducting their own vineyard. He studied foreign languages, also in Bordeaux, a place that opened his interest to the world of wines. He returns to Portugal in search of a professional path and then embraces and continues Tempo Largo’s project, dedicating himself to all tasks, from vineyard to wine.

João Paulo Gaspar

Raised in the Douro plains, in the Alijó village, he graduated in Oenology at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. The year 2002 marks the first author harvest and since then, he has signed wines in the Douro, Vinhos Verdes, Lafões and Távora-Varosa regions. The passion for wine was born naturally and has matured throughout all the years he has been in contact with the people, lands and popular wine culture, in a constant improvement of his (sense of) taste.
